Our group, led by Dr. Jon Klingensmith, is focused on 3D image analysis and deep learning to work toward predicting coronary disease with non-invasive cardiac magnetic resonance. With heart disease being the leading cause of death in the United States, Dr. Klingensmith has nurtured a passion for the development of imaging-related technologies to assist in its assessment and prevention. The potential for these projects is tremendous, as it could dramatically decrease the cost of the early detection of heart disease as well as improving lives around the globe. The research has been funded by the American Heart Association and the NIH.
Dr. Klingensmith built his background in characterizing coronary plaques and developing products to image coronary artery disease.
